Consulting is one of the most popular career paths for MBAs – and who can blame them? Recent research by Management Consulted – which last year revealed the top 10 companies with the highest MBA salaries – found that it is one of the most profitable fields for b-school graduates.

Here are the 13 consulting firms where the best MBA talent can earn over US$200,000 (£146,092) in the long run.

Accenture Strategy
Total compensation: up to US$200,000
Accenture Strategy is a global consulting firm that serves over 40 different sectors. Its areas of expertise are technology, customer growth, supply chain operations, and talent and enterprise value. Accenture Strategy is one of five firms paying MBA talent up to US$200,000.

Altman Solon
Total compensation: up to US$200,000
Altman Solon is a consulting firm operating within the Telecommunications, Media, and Technology (TMT) sectors, representing a US$5tn global market. The company has extensive international reach, with offices and projects that span over 100 countries.

The second most high-paying employer in consulting is Strategy&. The multinational strategy firm’s reach spans across industries, from healthcare, energy, financial services, chemicals to telecommunications, aerospace, media technology and fast-moving consumer goods.

And this year’s winner, providing MBA graduates with the highest salary in consulting is AlixPartners, a global business advisory firm that offers services in corporate performance, corporate turnarounds, litigation consulting and forensic accounting. The company’s specialty is handling high-impact situations, which has attracted global giants such as General Motors and Enron.
